Sugar Cleanse Complete

If you have been following along with the latest food endeavor from the Titus house, you will know that we had been sugar free for quite a while in order to not only cleanse ourselves of sugar but the hopefully curve the addiction (that I had) to sugary deliciousness. I had said in the beginning that we had pledged to do this sugar free business for one full month (or 31 days) however, we are done. Well, not exactly done… far from it actually. After quite a bit of research and a lengthy discussion about what we wished to accomplish with out cleanse, we have decided to do this sugar cleanse in phases in hopes of making not just a temporary cleanse but a long term change. Phase one was completely no sugar for an extended amount of time. The research suggests that after 1-2 weeks of no sugar, the withdrawal symptoms stop and your system should not longer crave the sugar like an addition (I am not sure about this but we shall see).  That phase is done. Phase two (where we are now) is reasonable amounts of sugar on most days and one day per week with no sugar. This phase coule last indefinitely. Now we have vowed to reduce our sugar use and watch out for those “hidden sugars” on a regular basis. On Wednesdays every week we are going to go sugarless for the day.  Also, I have to do lines on the chalkboard:

I will not eat icecream or cookie dough at every meal.

I will not eat icecream or cookie dough at every meal.

I will not eat icecream or cookie dough at every meal.

I will not eat icecream or cookie dough at every meal.

I will not eat icecream or cookie dough at every meal.

I will not eat icecream or cookie dough at every meal.

So, that is the sugar update…
