All about food. Well, almost all.

So, I’ve admittedly been slacking on updating the blog.  Last week was crazy.  We didn’t eat dinner at home one single night.  We had plans and things to do and more plans.  We went to the farmer’s market again last Saturday and got tons of veggies including patty pan squash, green and red tomatoes, peppers, peaches, plums, kirby cucumbers, cauliflower, watermelon, and probably something else that I’m forgetting.

Watermelon:

We have barely gotten to eat it all because we have been going out for dinner a lot but we did pickle the cucumbers and roma tomatoes.  We also got swiss and blue cheeses from a local guy.  We chatted it up with him for a few minutes about his cows and milk and making the cheese.  We used the cheese and a some veggies for Raclette and had the parents over for dinner last Sunday.  Monday night we ate out at Flip Flops (the place the last years Hell’s Kitchen winner worked before winning the show).  I had the special which was a blue crab pasta dish.  Yum.  Tuesday night we went out to dinner with Ashley’s parents to The Melting Pot.  Fondue.  Yum.

Here’s us in the backseat of the car on the way there:

Wednesday night we went to Downwinds Cafe in Spruce Creek Fly-in.  Ashley and I shared a portabella sandwich and a spinach roll.  Both were delicious.  Thursday night was dinner at the parents house.  We were served edamame for an appetizer, homemade stir-fry with grass fed beef and veggies for dinnner, and wacky cake for dessert.  It was all very good.  Friday it got late and we took a late nap and essentially skipped dinner.  What an outrage!  Saturday we went out to dinner with a friend I used to work with.  We ate sushi at Tarafuku.  Sunday we were running errands and it got late and we got pizza at Gabby’s Pizza at the new Port Orange Pavilion.  Tonight we went to the parents again for our normal Monday night dinner and had a delicious mushroom quiche and cream cheese bars for dessert.  And so now that this whole post is about food… Tomorrow we are hoping to have a nice homemade dinner eaten at home together.  Ah, how nice it will be.

Even the animals are tired of all these nights out:

Next weekend is going to be busy as well.  A close friend is graduating from high school and we are going to the commencement ceremony on Friday night and her party on Saturday night. Sunday we may go to Disney as a friend will be here from New Mexico. In light of this I have two recommendations for commencement speakers for you to check out:

No new information about the house.  It has been listed with the new guy for less than two weeks and we haven’t gotten any calls about it yet.  Hopefully something will happen soon.  Luckily, we have been very busy and have had a lot going on so we haven’t been freaking out or impatient lately.
